Once you start your own business, the challenge is Creating More Time Freedom For Yourself.
Most self-employed business owners become enslaved by their business. In this video, Chris Record explains the benefits of entrepreneurship and how to truly become location independent and live the laptop lifestyle most dream of.
The benefits of entrepreneurship are many but their is one little trick that keeps many from the freedom lifestyle they desire. Once you crack the code of building a business that is location-independent, essentially that's when you begin living the laptop the lifestyle. It doesn't matter if you quickly want to go somewhere or if you want to travel for vacations or maybe if you just want to spend more time with your family. The thing is you have to have control of your own time so you want to have a business that you can manage from your phone and your laptop, a business that you can manage anywhere. That's a business that is truly location-independent and you can be location-independent.
So how can you be a traveling CEO of your own business?
How can you be location independent as an entrepreneur?
How can you travel the world and still be an effective and productive business owner?
How can you create tasks that you want to do instead of just doing all the tasks, the ones you really don't want to do or the ones you're not skilled at?
The main key is to learn how to delegate.
There are always going to be tasks to do. There are always going to be lots and lots of things to do in running a business that require a lot of time and a lot of detail. The secret is, if you learn to delegate, you will realize that you're not the one that has to do it!
The more that you attempt to do everything in your business yourself, then the more you're tied to your business and that defeats the purpose because what you've done is you've created a job for yourself and you've become a slave to your business. The concept of delegation means that you find your strengths and then you focus on those strengths. Make a list of all the tasks that you have to do and find out what it is that you don't want to do and dedicate that to those that do want to do it those, that know how to do it.
You want to fill your day with the task of the things that you want to do.
It this way you're in control of your time and you are doing what you love and allow delegation to handle the rest. Delegation is difficult because entrepreneurs are usually Type A personalities, they are very dominant.
They have an “I can do it better” mentality because they are very creative and have great vision. Usually, they can do it better. They see problems and they find solutions and they want to be the one that fixes it. They want to be the people that that problem solve.
If you want to be self-employed then you start doing these things and you transition from being an employee to a self-employed person because the day that you realize that you've identified a problem and then you take it into your own hands that you can create something that will solve the solution and that's the day that you become an entrepreneur, that's the day that you were truly self-employed. However, that's when it really gets crazy because then you start working these really, really long hours and you feel that you are the only one, you feel like you have to do everything because you want it done right. You have to do everything but the reality is you have to become a master of delegation.
In order to that you must trust and you have to allow the people that work for you to take over and do the work. No, they're not going to do the job as good as you, so you have to be willing to do some give-and-take.
All the best!
